Why I like him

Update terakhir:

Salam.

HIm in this case is ‘Tun Dr Mahathir’.

I read his great book ‘DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE’.

He wrote very well on a chapter called EDUCATION.

2)  I think his analysis is superb regarding the development of education , opportunities, malay schools and chinese private schools , PPSMI, malay graduates , teachers not fluent in English and many more important issues.

What struck me most is about his statement regarding religious teachers in the schools which he claimed to be junior than the rest of his colleaugue in the school.

I think he was right in some ways like:

Many ustaz/ustazah came from Middle East.  They learnt islamic knowledge in arabic all their life time.  When they came back from Egypt they can hardly write intelligently in important examination for confirmation of jobs 1980’s.  Those who marked their answer scripts were mainly university lecturers and PTD officers who were trained in western countries.  Since the ustaz/ustazah wrote their answers like ‘snake/berbelit-belit’ many ustaz failed horribly in the examination.  So they lost their seniority in the teaching posts for example.

Another important remark is ustaz/ustazah have a bery big influence on the school populations.  What come out from their mouths are quraanic texts and hadiths - They mainly come from the OPPOSITION PARTY like PAS in this country.  As a result , many head teachers find that it is quite difficult to give orders, controll  to these so called middle eastern country graduates.  During yearly assessment on job performance, the ustaz/uztazah lost their chance to get ANUGERAH KHIDMAT CEMERLANG.

So they were always ‘juniors’ as put my Tun DR Mahathir was correct.

3)  But I don’t like Tun writing on ‘kopiah’ as skull cap worn by some malays in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah. I don’t think it is so horrible a top head gear to be worn by the muslims when they go to perform Friday prayers.  It is more practical than wearing songkok.  If the rain comes, the songkok will get wet and soon ..the songkok have so many patches of continents on its so called  sides.

While if we have kopiah , we can put it easily into our pockets.  Brilliant , isn’t it?  It will not get wet like a songkok.  It is much cheaper to buy a kopiah than a songkok. If you are a frequent goer to the masjid day in and day out , it is much practical to have a kopiah .. and it comes with many colours.  Perhaps , Tun Dr Mahathis was angry when the kopiah has green and white colour on its top.  He..he..

Green and white is the trademark of the PAS flag.

So for those who are going for their first time interviews in JPA, SPA, SPP in Putrajaya ..  avoid wearing kopiah with colours like GREEN, WHITE, etc etc.  Better to put a songkok if you like to else you will get a question like '  what do you think of hudud laws as mentioned by Kelantan Government in 1990s ?'.  To be honest, I got this question when I was about to get government scholarshhip to further my studies in United Kingdom.  I think I answered the question very well when I successfully gained the scholarship and finally graduated from Birmingham University, England in 1995 with a Masters in Computers.

Thank you.

Well well well ..
Wallahu aklam.
